Today I really wanted to do something fun with the boys today.... So all three of us made rice crispy treats and dyed them green. It was so messy and sticky but we all had a good time. I was gonna have the boys make there own shapes but after I realized how much stuck to there hands I new that wasn't gonna work. So I decided to put the rice crispy treats in a pan and let the boys use cookie cutters to make shapes. It was not easy at all we had to let them sit in the fridge before taking the shapes out on the pan. The boys helped me melt the marshmallows, they kept eating them out of the pan. I let them each have a spoon so they could help me stir and watch them melt. A couple times they touched the pan and burnt them selves but kept stirring. After we melted them I gave the boys each a bowl and let them stir in the rice crispy cereal into their melted marsh mellows. Then after they mixed everything together we put them into a pan and spread them out. Then I put them in the fridge for about ten minutes and then let the boys use the cookie cutters to make shapes. I was very excited to do something with the boys for St. Patty's Day this year. They kept grabbing them and their hands were both covered in sticky rice crispy treats it was so cute. They kept saying "mommy clean my hands mommy" and I would tell them "eat them off your hands boys they are yummy." I even put some in my hands and ate it but they didn't really like the idea of having lots of sticky stuff on their hands. So I would clean their hands over and over again and every time I did they would just get them sticky again. We had a good time getting messy and I was happy they both had fun!
